The Impact of Reading: a superpower

As someone who has always believed in superpowers that are underestimated and seen as mere stories for children to be entertained, I have always believed that every human being can be hyper potent and expand their existence to the maximum. I have always seen Education as the essence of the greatest and most inspiring human beings. Education is the soul of every human being and my sources of superpowers.

The connection I had with books was always extremely intense, I really enjoyed reading books, something used to speak to me each book. My parents say that I have always been a curious person who wanted to understand things that were still unlocked to me. The school was my world expansion. Saying that, I would like to express my affection for my first teacher: Monica. I was always delighted to see how what she reproduced on the whiteboard could be exactly the alphabet that was above. So I wanted to be like Monica, I was in love with writing! Maybe this was the secret power that allowed Monica being such a wonderful teacher. I created bonds with that one who affectionately named me a “future writer”.

At the age of 11, I met a great project from my school, “Academia Estudantil de Letras”, a young representation of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. Each student represented an author (usually a national one) and the patron of the academy is Maurício de Sousa, my second academic inspiration. This project taught me to be a leader, taught me what it really is to be a leader. A leader is a proactive and above all an egalitarian person, it helped me to arrive in my own definition. In my words: “to be a leader is to know your followers in such a way and so deeply that you know how to adapt a common goal in favor of the personality of each member”. AEL then made it possible.

I dedicated myself completely on this. After that, I made a new step in my life. I accepted the challenge of studying foreign languages! I already had some knowledge of English, so then I decided to venture into French and Italian… my second love. Surely I am passionate about it. My passion for letters increases so considerably! I realize my vocation when I read, communicate, participate in projects and strengthen myself as a leader, after all.

My child favorite book “Demi, O Pote Vazio” motivated me since I was 7 with a passion for the simple, the proactivity and honesty that great things are achieved in life. I am actually a life-loving person who loves to study and wants to return all my gratitude to everyone and enable more Monicas and more social engagement projects. I’m currently writing a book… slowly my book takes shape and authenticity. The inspiration comes from my origin, so I am grateful to my most remote past. Gratitude and motivations allow me to move and I am extremely happy being myself. This is my great motivation as a human being, my superpower.
